Crime and Violence Prevention

Members of the UCI community are working collaboratively and across disciplines to address pressing issues such as family violence, criminal justice reform, treatment of trauma, and a wide range of other topics. UCI faculty across campus study prevention from different angles, including identifying crime hotspots through mathematical modeling, analyzing gang mentality, and understanding the role of brain development in adolescent criminal activity. By fostering collaboration and communication among academics, legal professionals, policy makers and the general public, these initiatives are making a significant impact across multiple locations and populations.
